Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of work do you do?

I have worked as a full time professional freelance writer since 2004. In that time, I have provided a wide range of projects for a diverse portfolio of clients. Over the years, my writing skills have increased and I have expanded my skills to include many forms of writing.

My freelance writing services include:

  • Article writing, including writing for print publications and internet articles, book descriptions, product reviews, and more.
  • Blog writing
  • Grant writing and research
  • Ghostwriting for books and e-books

In addition, I provide content writing projects for businesses, such as:

  • White papers
  • Case studies
  • Bios
  • Press releases
  • Website content
  • E-mail marketing messages
  • Facebook and Twitter posts

I also provide support based services, including proofreading, editing, and fact checking services for writing that you may have already completed.

What can I expect when we work together on a project?

I can develop your content in the voice you prefer, such as funny, serious, professional, etc. I start by studying your existing content, competitors, and take the time to learn about your business and what sets you apart from the competition. In the beginning and continuing throughout the project, I am available to communicate with you via e-mail, Skype, or telephone conversations.

Regardless of the type of project or scope of the work, you can expect quality work delivered on time. All work will be completed by the date agreed upon at the start of the project.

What is the process for having you write for me?

In most cases, I will speak with you on the telephone. I’ll have you explain what you need, your goals for the finished product, and ask questions about your project, your customers or target audience, competition, and anything else needed to clarify the work that is required.

I will obtain written and verbal information from you to use in creating content that fits your requirements. By the agreed upon date, I will submit the first draft, get your feedback, and make revisions, when needed. I am usually able to minimize revisions by taking the time to fully understand your requirements at the beginning of the process.

What are your fees?

The fee depends on the project. Factors such as the scope of the project, amount of research time required, interviews that may need to be conducted, and the time it will take to complete the work influence the rate for a particular project. I will provide a quote based on the agreed upon parameters. If the size of the project grows, the budget will be adjusted to fit the new scope of the project.

Who are your clients?

My clients fall into a few different categories. Some are web design firms and ad agencies that subcontract the content writing and copywriting work their clients need to me. Others are businesses that hire me directly. I write for companies of all sizes in diverse industries, such as professional service firms, real estate agencies, travel agencies, home improvement companies, and many others.

Another group of clients are website owners interested in blog posts for their sites, small non-profits in need of a grant writer, and article writing for small newspapers and online publications.

What are your payment terms?

  • 1/3 deposit
  • 1/3 when the first half of the first draft is completed
  • Final 1/3 is due upon delivery of the remainder of the first draft
